These color coatings include: Polar White, Colony Green, Ash Gray, Light Stone, Rustic Red, Sahara Tan, Aztec Gold and Acrylic Coated Galvalume.

ENERGY STAR is a label put on products that have met energy-efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

ENERGY STAR products help save energy, save money, and play an important role in the solution of global warming by preventing the greenhouse gas emissions caused when electricity is generated.

Benefits of using Energy Star qualified roof products:

• Saves Money and Energy. Energy bills can be reduced by up to 50% by reducing the amount of air-conditioning needed in buildings. Homes and buildings located in hot and sunny climates will see the greatest energy and cost savings.
• Downsizes Cooling Equipment: Peak cooling demand can be reduced by 10-15% allowing the home or building owner to purchase a smaller, more efficient, and less expensive cooling system.
• Decreases Pollution in Urban Areas: Less fossil fuels are burned resulting in less pollution from power plants.
• Roof Products Life Increased: A more constant temperature is maintained which reduces thermal shock. Thermal shock occurs during temperature changes. The roof expands and contracts, causing stress and degrading the roof.

ENERGY STAR roof products reflect more of the sun’s rays therefore decreasing the amount of heat allowed into a building and lowering the roof’s surface temperature by up to 100F thus increasing the roof product life.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 includes a tax credit for consumers that use energy star products. Qualified products may cost more but have the highest efficiency levels and will lower energy bills in a reasonable amount of time. All Energy Star labeled metal roofs qualify for the tax credit of $500.00. They must be expected to last 5 years or have a 2 year warranty. Installation costs are not included. Manufacturer’s Certification Statement is required and IRS Form 5695 must be filed.
